Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening: Latitude Cafe
Menomonee Falls Public Library Welcomes Latitude Café with Ribbon Cutting, Grand Opening
Menomonee Falls, August 23, 2024 – Menomonee Falls Public Library is proud to celebrate the opening of Latitude Café with a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening festivities. The ribbon cutting ceremony for Latitude Café is scheduled for Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 4:15 PM.
Located on the second floor of the Library, Latitude Café will offer Library patrons and visitors the opportunity to purchase a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages as well as pastries and other light refreshments.
The concept for a coffee shop in the Library was spearheaded by Menomonee Falls Village Board Trustee and Library Board Member Ann Lessila. A proposal for Latitude Café owners Daniel and Amber Levy to open the coffee shop in the Library was approved by the Village Board and Library Board in March of 2024.
Latitude Café will be operating out of the Library’s former Snack Room. The Village approved funding for plumbing and electrical work to be done to the space to allow for the shop to operate. All countertops, appliances, and other fixtures were supplied by Latitude.
In return for operating in the Library building, Latitude Café will provide 10% of gross revenue generated from the coffee shop back to Menomonee Falls Public Library.
“We are thrilled to welcome Latitude Café to our Library,” says Library Director Jacqueline Rammer. “The Village and Library Boards have supported this endeavor and we look forward to promoting this unique and delicious offering to our Library patrons.”
The ribbon cutting is organized by the Chamber of Greater Menomonee Falls and Sussex. Public and media are welcome to attend.
A grand opening celebration with activities and events for all ages will take place on Friday, September 6, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Activities include a Library-wide scavenger hunt, storytimes at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM and a special coffee shop pretend play area in the Children’s Library Early Literacy Corner. Tours of the Library will be given by Library Director Rammer at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Latitude Café will be offering one gift bag per family while supplies last and free raffle tickets for the chance to win a gift basket with goodies from Menomonee Falls businesses.
Founded in 1906, Menomonee Falls Public Library encourages life-long learning by providing materials, services, and programs to enrich the community’s educational, informational and recreational needs.
